Ask a stupid question...
« on: April 25, 2008, 10:03:25 AM »
Hello again all. As some of you may know, I know next to nothing regarding scripting and yes I did search the net for an answer to this question before taking up your valuable time, but here's the rub...

What's the syntax needed to tell Quark to create a line? I need to create some in vertical and horizontal positions to be use as crop marks. I've looked at the 'add crop marks' script and it doesn't quite do what I want, also it's syntax hurts my brain {BoxA - lineLength, BoxD} as points point, end point:{BoxA - lineOffset, BoxD} etc. etc.

I just need a guiding hand to set me off on the right track and I'll muddle on from there.

Thank you in advance and have a great weekend!!

Charlotte

Some ting like this should get you started.

001   tell application "QuarkXPress"
002        activate
003        tell document 1
004             tell current page
005                  set New_Line to make new line box at beginning with properties
006                       {name:"My First Line", left point:{10, 20}, right point:{10, 40}, width:0.5, color:"Black", end caps:plain line, gap color:"None", gap shade:"100", style:sparsely dashed line, locked:false, box shape:orthogonal line}
007             end tell
008        end tell
009   end tell
