Teleporting cursor OSX10.4.11
« on: July 25, 2008, 07:52:15 AM »
Quite regularly mainly when working with the Finder my mouse cursor will disappear and re-appear somewhere else sometimes on the 2nd screen.

It happens on all the macs here running 10.4.11. All have 2 monitors and a wired mouse.

Anyone else come across this.

Hi Glen!
Do you use a mouse pad? Or is the surface where the mouse is moved not regular (with color shifts?). If so, that is the reason why the cursor jumps.
If you move your mouse on a 1-color mousepad or desktop then I don't know the reason.
Hope this helps.

Jean-Marie, thats a good theory, the mousemat is a multicoloured calendar and company logo thing that marketing had made for our customers, probably not a good surface for an optical mouse. I'm going to try without for a few weeks and see if the jumping stops.
