I'd suggest looking at buying it from the States if you can. There are reports on Adobe's forums that US bought versions play fine on non-US machines and OS.

Do the maths, I'll bet even with shipping and tax it'll be cheaper.

Please, sign the petition if you are even vaguely upset by Adobe's excessive non-US market pricing.

Then, if you have time, take a look at http://www.amanwithapencil.com/adobe.html to see a few of the extreme price differences.

Hopefully that'll get you moved enough to take one last step - a submission to the EU Directorate General for Competition here http://ec.europa.eu/comm/competition/forms/consumer_form.html

The latter only takes a minute and, if enough do it, the EU must surely investigate and they do have the power to act. Not just against Adobe, though that's the primary target right now, but against all companies ripping off non-US markets (Quark etc.,) and ultimately that will benefit us all. Play your part!
