Photoshop Action - sample colour and change to Black
« on: March 26, 2009, 03:40:42 AM »
Hi Folks!

I have a series of ballot papers to amend. These have been sent to me as PSD files and depict party candidates, party logos, names of candidates and lines. The lines and text are in CMYK and my printer is refusing to print the files like this - he wants the lines and text in black only.

Is there a script/action I can use to select these and change to black?

Many thanks (again).

Charlotte

Charlotte, you say PSD files are they still layered? Is there any chance of looking at a sample file or two? Are they all consistent in the way they have been built?

tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS3"
   set theArtLayers to every layer of current document
   repeat with eachLayer in theArtLayers
      try
         set stroke color of text object of eachLayer to {class:CMYK color, cyan:0.0, magenta:0.0, yellow:0.0, black:100.0}
      end try
   end repeat
end tell

This should do the text. The lines will depend on how they have been constructed. Can you give us more info or a sample file?
