recommended reading?
« on: January 02, 2010, 05:51:48 PM »
hi guys.

first of all, thank you; youve all been so helpful and ive managed to achieve some very workable scripts with your help, even tho this is my first foray into any scripting.

i started with "apple script 1-2-3" which certainly got me up to a speedy crawl, but i was wondering if you all could recommend books, sites or anything that i could explore to further my knowledge.

if not, i'll keep feeling my way and check out bookstore offerings :-)  and keep comign back with little questions (either way).

thanks. and happy new year to you all.

You have posted in the Quark Forum is it just this Application that you are interested in learning to script or is your question more general?

ah. thanks larsen. very good point.  both i guess.

i am also new to macs so am going in through the quark door, but yes it seems logical that the more i know about what is possible in applescript as it applies to quark and other programmes, would be useful.

many thanks for any suggestions.

Shirley Hopkins. She seems to have moved over to InDesign, but...

Once you get over the learning curve hump, she's invaluable.
