Importing Xpress tags: tab stops not "followed"
« on: April 16, 2010, 09:09:05 AM »
I'm importing Xpress tagged text, and I have two stylesheets which are identical except for location of tabs.

But when I import the text, the lines with the second stylesheet (named "Company_Table_A") don't follow that stylesheet's tab settings, they seem to be following the tabs of stylesheet 1 (eg "Company Table").

Are both style sheets defined in your doc?
Did you "triple check" their names? (I noticed that you used underscores in one and not the other)

Also, your closing tag for "company name" should be "<@$p>".

Ah.

What does that specifically mean, the "<@$p>"?

I guess what I mean is, what does it do that "<@>" doesn't do?

Frankly I am not sure, I never used "<@>" alone, and I'm not in a position to test it.

But the way I always understood that tag was:
  • <@ ...>: Means to set a character style
  • $p: Means the character style of the current paragraph
