The Philly AppleScript UG is having our bimonthly meeting this Friday (4/13) and the subject is scripting InDesign.

Sure would be nice to have Applescript special interest group as part of The Northwest of Us Mac user group, www.nwou.org,  here in Chicago area. Course, could have one if I ran it--may do that yet. It is a great Mac user group.

If you have need to script InDesign probably best in long run to learn Adobe's version of Javascript. You can call Javascript's from Applescript using do script--best for batch operations. Just put your debugged Javascript program in InDesign CS2 scripts folder on your machine and insert call into your Applescript droplet file area as in example.

If you decide to try Applescript first suggest you purchase Ms. Hopkins fine book on Scripting InDesign from Amazon. Good luck.
