Export Xpress tags for entire document's stylesheets?
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:29:32 AM »
Anyone know a way to do this, other than looping through every story?

I would rather cycle through every style sheets and create a 2 or 3-word (if neede — you should even try with empty paras but applied style sheet) paragraph of each in a temp text box, then export as XPress tags. Does it make sense?

Hmm...
Can you get me started?

tell application "QuarkXPress"
   activate
   tell document 1
      set tool mode to contents mode
      set Stylebox to make new text box at beginning with properties {bounds:{0, 0, 1, 1}}
                         repeat with x from 1 to count of ...

   end tell
end tell

Just set a list with every style sheets. Loop in there and create a new paragraph for each one (no need of creating text or inserting whatever; simply apply style sheet i). Export as XPress tags. Now if you also need character style sheets, you’ll obviously need to let’s say type some text - simply copy its name…
Are you with me?

Yeah, I think I understand your approach.
