What encoding Tex-Edit Plus does handle and how?
« on: December 19, 2012, 05:33:52 AM »
Hi! I'm trying to process files from Word format to be imported in Quark document via RTF format (conversion made by shell command textutil -convert) and XPress Tags tagging in TEP. I'm stuck somewhere between the save part and the import part: all the "special characters" (apostrophes, accented letters) do not import but are replaced with squares. The encoding I chose in the conversion command is UTF-8 (which I also reported in the XPress Tags header: <v9.50><e9> anyway the UTF-16 encoding just don't import regular letters).

So how shall I code the thing so the text file is imported correctly without any search and replace handler appended?
