Title: Seeking your input...
Post by: Publi-Script on March 23, 2007, 01:53:52 PM
Hi all,

I the hopes of better serving this cummunity, I would like to gather your thoughts on the actual layout of these forums (Topics, Options, Layout, Colors, etc.)

I will obviously not be able to cather to everyone's fancy but this will help me nonetheless in providing you with the best possible environment.

Of course I encourage you to support any other member's suggestion that you wish you would have mentionned first. ;)

TIA

Michel

Hey!

Just wanted to say THX for this great forum! As mentioned in my thread I am totally new to AppleScript and besides that my programming experience is ages ago. But I have to (and want to) dig into scripting. So one of the first resources I found was this forum. Well designed and perfectly sorted. Really good overview! And fascinating quick answering members. Thanks a mill guys and gals!! ;D
This will definitely not have been my last question here but I am sure I'll get it somewhen  ;)

A last thing: I saw a post by TecNik regarding the nice button to bring up the ScriptEditor with the code inside. This is a really nice feature. But this would be a goodie..
Thanks to everyody putting effort in keeping this site up and running! Respect!

Markus

Hi,

Nice job. You might add InDesign Applescript/Javascriot topic in future?

When you are the last poster, and you post a reply it gets added under a rule rather than added as a fresh post, I'd prefer if it was the latter, don't know if there are strong prefs the other way?

Also I can't seem to edit my posts, after another post is made, my typing and grammar are both bad. Am I missing an option on the forum?

Glenn, I think this is a good point. I would prefer a reply to self to be separate posting. I made an addition to a post I made, then deleted the addition due to a mistake and it removed the original post as well. You live and learn. My typing skills are lacking too.
In addition to this Im having trouble with code in the scroll boxes I can't make the scrolling activate to get the code in one clean chunk. I have to cut & paste in smaller parts. (using safari 1.3.2) is this just down to my browser choice? Thank you.

I disabled an option about "double posting" please tell me if that solved your issue.

I removed the "grace period" you had to edit your posts (well you and everyone else). BTW it was set to 1 hour.

Thanks Michel, I think the forum as a whole is excellent.
Where else can you get forum changes implemented so quickly. ;D

One more suggestion. Is it possible to return, after posting, to the thread rather than the Forum?

Go here (http://publi-script.com/Forums/index.php?action=profile;u=5;sa=theme) and check or uncheck the appropriate box [ Return to topics after posting by default.]
